India vs Bangladesh test series, Bangladesh is on a tour of India for 2 Tests and 3 ODI matches. After winning a historic series over Pakistan, Ban is confident on this tour.
The first test match of the series started on 19 September in MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Ban won the toss and opted to bowl first. Akash Deep made his test debut for India in this match.
Ban made their decision to bowl better when Hasan Mahmud gave India an earlier breakthrough. India lost three early wickets on the score of 34. Rohit, Virat Kohli, and Shubman lost their wickets without scoring big in the first Inning.Â
In the middle order, Rishabh Pant tried to support Yashasvi Jaiswal. They made a 62-run partnership. Jaiswal lost his wicket after he scored 56 runs.
At the time of the mid-inning, India was on 144 runs with a loss of six wickets.

But, lower-order batters Ravindra Jadeja and R. Ashwin batted well. They both made a 199-run partnership for the 7th wicket. R Ashwin made his 5th Test hundred and R Jadeja lost his wicket on the score of 86 runs. Thus, India ended their first innings with a score of 376 runs. If we talk about Ban’s bowling lineup, Hasan Mahmud took 5 wickets and Taskin Ahmed took 3 wickets.
2nd inning of the Test between Ind vs Ban
In the 2nd inning of the test match, Ban batters did nothing big. Their biggest partnership of the inning was for 51 runs between Sakib and Litton Das. Ban scored 149 runs in the 2nd inning of the test match. But Indian bowlers showed their class. Jasprit Bumrah took 4 wickets. M Siraj, Akash Deep, and R Jadeja took 2 wickets each.
3rd inning of the Test Series
On the 2nd day of the India vs Bangladesh test, we saw the 3rd inning of the match. In India’s 2nd inning, Ban’s bowler gave India an early breakthrough by dismissing Rohit, who scored only 5 runs. Jaiswal also lost his wicket earlier; he scored 10 runs. But the most shocking thing happened for Virat Kohli as he didn’t take a review against an LBW call. The ultra-edge screen shows a big touch of the bat to the ball before touching the leg.
At the end of the 2nd day, India scored 81 runs and lost 3 wickets. Shubman Gill and R Pant are on the crease and managed a partnership of 14 runs.
On the 2nd day, both teams lost 17 wickets, which is the most on this ground. India has a lead of 308 runs at the 2nd-day stumps. It seems we will get the result of the match very soon. It will be interesting to see on day 3 of the match if Ban’s bowlers show some good cricket.
Day 3 of the first match
India started playing on day 3 of the match. R Pant and Shubman Gill came to the crease. They both played a fabulous game of cricket on day 3 as they both made centuries.Â
A big partnership of 167 runs came between Gill and Pant. Mehidy Hasan Miraz is the only Bangladeshi bowler with wickets of Indian batsman R. Pant on day 3. Pant got out after scoring an important knock of 109 runs.Â
Shubman Gill also made his 4th Test century. After Pant’s wicket, KL Rahul came to bat. He remained not out on 22 runs. Indian captain Rohit Sharma declared the innings on 287/4. S. Gill got not out on 119 runs.Â
The Indian team takes a huge lead of 514 runs. Ban got the target of 515 runs to win this match.
Final Inning of the Match
Ban batsmen gave a good start to their team as the opening batsmen made a 62-run partnership. Jasprit Bumrah made a breakthrough for the Indian team when he took the wicket of Zakir Hasan, who made 33 runs.Â
After Bumrah, R. Ashwin takes charge in his hands. He took 3 wickets for the Indian team. Bangladeshi skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto demonstrated a careful approach in his play.
He stabilized the innings for the ban. At the end of day 3, Ban made 158 runs and lost 4 wickets. Najmul and Shakib Al Hasan are at the crease.
They still need 357 runs to win this first match. On the other hand, the Indian team needs 6 wickets to win the game.
It looks like we got the match result on the 4th day of the match. India leads in this match. But, Ban shows a strong sense of duty in the 4th innings. It will be interesting to see what happens on day 4 of the game.
Day 4 of the India vs Bangladesh first match
Bangladesh was unable to show good cricket on day 4, as we expected. In the first session of day 4, they lost the match. A partnership of 48 runs happened between Najmul and Shakib Al Hasan for the 5th wicket.
After this partnership, no other Ban batsman did well for their team. Credit goes to R. Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja for their classical bowling.Â
Ravichandran Ashwin takes 6 wickets, and Jadeja takes 3 wickets in the 4th inning of the match. This is Ashwin’s 37th five-fer in Test cricket, and his 7th in the fourth innings.
For the 4th time in Test cricket, R. Ashwin hit a century and took a 5-fer in the same Test match. R. Ashwin becomes the Player of the Match for their incredible performance in this match.
It will be interesting to see if the Bangladeshi team improves in the 2nd Test. They need to learn from their mistakes.
