India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Match: India wins the Series by 2-0

The second test of the India vs. Bangladesh series started on 27 September at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

India won the toss and elected to bowl first in this match. This match is crucial for Bangladesh, as they lost the first match of the series. They need to win this match to level this Test series. But as always, India’s favorites will win by 2-0 in this series.

The first inning of the match, Day 1

Bangladesh came to bat first, but their batter didn’t give a strong start to their team. Opening batter Zakir Hasan lost his wicket without scoring a run. Ban’s batter Mominul Haque stabilizes their inning. 

Rain called off play on day 1 after 35 overs. Ban’s team score was 107 runs, and they lost 3 wickets. Skipper Shanto lost his wicket early; he scored 31 runs.

Akaas Deep took 2 wickets, and R. Ashwin took one wicket on day 1. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mominul Haque are at the crease.

Day 4 of the 2nd test

On day 4 of the match, Mominul Haque is the only Bangladeshi batter to play responsibly. He scored the 12th century of his Test career. Other batters do nothing for their team. 

Credit goes to the Indian bowling lineup for their extraordinary game. Jasprit Bumrah took 3 wickets. Siraj, Ashwin, and Aksh Deep each took 2 wickets. Bangladesh ended their innings by scoring 233 runs. Mominul goes not out on 107 runs.

At this point, every cricket fan thinks that the match will result in a draw. Because it is day 4 and only the first inning is complete. But the Indian team has some other plans. The Indian opener gives an outstanding start to the team. 

Team India makes records for the fastest 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 runs in a test match. India completed the first 50 runs in just 3 overs, and they reached 100 runs in just 61 balls. 

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul scored 72, 23, 39, 47, and 63 runs, respectively. Most of the Indian batters’ strike rates are over 100. 

Team India declared their innings in 35 overs after smashing 283 runs. India took the lead of 53 runs in the 2nd innings of the match.

3rd Inning of the Test match

Ban’s batters are unable to give a strong start to their team again. Opening batsmen Zakir Hasan and Hasan Mahmud lost their wickets earlier. Bangladesh scored 26 runs and lost 2 wickets at the end of day 4. Both teams scored a total of 437 runs and took 18 wickets on day 4.

Day 5 of the 2nd Test of India vs. Bangladesh

Ban’s team has simple plans on day 5 that they need to score big runs. But their reality is different from their plans. Shadman Islam and Mushfiqur Rahim were the only players who scored some runs. They scored 50 and 37 runs, respectively. All other batters of Ban did not play well. 

Again, credit goes to the Indian bowling lineup, who shows outstanding form. R. Ashwin, J. Bumrah, and R. Jadeja take 3 wickets each for Team India.

Visitors scored 146 runs in the 3rd inning of the match and took a 94-run lead over the Indian team.

The final inning of the match between India vs Bangladesh

In the final inning of the 2nd test match, India needs 95 runs to win this series by 2-0. As the game starts, both India openers look like they are in the mood to finish the game very fast. Their approach is clear: finish this match as soon as possible. Jaiswal gives a strong start to Team India. Jaiswal scored 51 runs in the 4th inning. Virat Kohli scored 29 runs. Team India achieved a score of 95 runs in 17.2 overs with ease. And this match by 7 wickets. The winning shot comes from R. Pant’s bat.

For a brilliant performance in both innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal became the Player of the Match.

Ravichandran Ashwin is the player of the series for his great batting and bowling. He also equals Muttiah Muralitharan’s record for most players of the series (11) in Tests.
