Government of Telangana approved the allocation of 15,000 2BHK last month. a positive move towards improving society. but people at Musi Riverfront see this as an improvement?.
Demolition started and more than 163 families moved out from slum to 2BHK. But will this 2BHK be enough for many large families living there?
How will my family live here? Said one of the family heads.
“I have been living here for the past 25 years, 17 members lived in this house. I have four married sons. Only one of them got allotted a house. We left the house yesterday. And today we found some of our goods got stolen”. Said Hajira Bi.
“How will my family live here” said Hajira. Walking through a four-room house built on 105 square yards.
Families refuse to relocate from Musi River.
Demolition started at Musi riverfront. but majority of families on Musi continued to oppose the demolition. Despite government’s offer of 2BHK families from Chanchalguda refused to relocate.
“We don’t need any 2BHK allotments. You can give them to those who need them. We sold our farmlands to buy this house for 50 lakh. If they demolish it we will be homeless”—said a woman from Hydershakote.
