New Features on Telegram “Businesses Nearby”
With this new feature on Telegram users can now discover verified businesses in their area.
Users can also view product catalogs, and make payments seamless. This can improve users’ trust and make transactions more convenient.
Removal of People Nearby.
Used by 0.1% of users this feature had issues with bots and scammers. Even though 99.9% of users have nothing to do with crime, the 0.1% involved can create a bad image of the platform. This 0.001% of users will put the interests of almost 1 billion users at risk.
Disabling media uploads on Telegram.
Disabling this feature prevents blogging tools by anonymous actors. Safeguarding users from illegal content.
