In the Paris Paralympics 2024, India’s campaign began with a bang. On day two, Avani Lakhera and Mona Agarwal won gold and bronze in women’s 10m air rifle standing SH1.
It was the second gold medal for Avani Lakhera in the Paralympics; she scored 249.7 in the final. She also won a gold medal in the Tokyo Paralympics 2020.

Mona took bronze in the Paris Paralympics 2024 with 228.7 in the final.
Manish Narwal won silver in the P1 men’s 10m air pistol SH1 event, finishing with a score of 234.9.
Meanwhile, Preethi Pal secured a bronze in the Women’s 100m T35 final. The 23-year-old Preethi clocked 14.21 seconds, which is also her personal best, to finish third. This is the first medal for India at a track event in the Para Games.
India hopes for the best in the 2024 Paralympics. A record 84 athletes have qualified for Paris.
In the last Tokyo Paralympics 2020, 54 athletes qualified. Of them, 19 won medals, including 5 gold medals.
