PM Modi spoke with Xi Jinping on sidelines of BRICS summit. Maintaining peace and stability on border should remain a priority. Mutual trust should remain the basis of bilateral ties.
This is the first structured interaction between two leaders in five years.
Peace Between Our Nations is Good for Global Peace.
PM Modi spoke following lines in BRICS summit.
“We are having a formal meeting after five years. We believe that India-China relationship is very important.
Not only for our people but also for global peace stability and progress. We welcome the consensus reached on the issues that have arisen over the last four years on the border.
Maintaining peace and stability on the border should remain our priority. Mutual trust mutual respect and mutual sensitivity should remain basis of our relationship.”
In a post on X PM Modi said mutual respect and mutual sensitivity will guide bilateral between our two countries.

This was the first structural interaction between two leaders in five years. Followed two countries reached an agreement on Monday. Resuming regular patrolling along Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.
PM modi’s last formal bilateral meet with Xi Jinping was in October 2019 in Mahabalipuram Tamil Nadu. months before June 2020 clashes in Galwan that led to milit=rity standoff. Two leader met little during a Group of 20 meeting in BAli, Indonesia in 2022. After that in Johannesburg, South Africa (2023).
